There are rules concerning trading that the breaking of which can land you in hot water.

Basically, you cannot trade more than your combined resource production from mines with any particular player, per every 24 hours.

With somebody who sits for you, or you sit for, or who shares a computer with, you cannot trade except at 1:1 ratio.

That said, the numbers do fluctuate - but the biggest variable is whether the seller knows about the above rules or not.

But people tend not to offer more than they are searching for, regardless of the commodity, this kind of skews the values of the resources. Just keep an eye on the markets and see if any paterns emmerge with pricing.

Not bad. I want to get the most out of my second planet other than having it be a staging base and a research post. At first I was thinking of just grabbing the ones in my solar system but now I think I will branch out a little more.

Yeah, consider also that early on in game crystal is very valuable but as the game progresses tritium / deuterium grow in value due to the increased use of large fleets demanding fuel.

false. You cannot make a profitable offer that the excess ressource is more than your mines + energy production without deducting consumption.
You can make as much 1:1 you want.

But you can't make 9000 for 3000 if your hour production is 3000.

# ยง 3.1 Transfer amounts
# The maximum amount that is permissible to send in a one-sided delivery is one hour's worth of production within 24 hours. This also applies to trades made through the trade center, which are not 1:1. Pushing other players with resources is prohibited.
If deliveries are to be made to several players, one hour's worth of production must be divided among them, regardless of the number and size of the players delivered to.
One hour's worth of production is the sum of all resource production of all planets without deducting energy consumption by units.

I have no problem with 1:1. Even going 1:1 people seem to need detritium more than any other.

I Colonized an ice planet as its wind was 156% and i already had wind power researched at the time. that was the main factor that influenced my decision.

How is ice working out for you? I've been curious about them but they seemed basically like an earth planet to me except Xen couldn't invade you.

How many metal fields were on your ice planet when you colonized it? About a month ago when I colonized an ice planet it only had 2 of each material. I'm now trying to decide where to go for my third and I notice that all uncolonized ice planets have three metal fields. Basically I'm wondering if something changed after I colonized it or is the ice planet in my system the only one in three galaxies that only had two metal fields.

Have you done any geological esploration research, Ice planets actually have more than that - but you need the research to discover the mines.
